The main objectives and activities of the association are listed as follows:

1. To Promote and preserve Kenyan culture in Finland.

The association will collaborate with institutions and organisations such
as consulates, businesses, schools, cultural clubs and municipals to
promote the Kenyan culture in Finland through activities such as:
The celebration of Kenyan holidays, participation in cultural exchange
programs, hosting of food festivals, music and dance performances,
language classes and intercultural dialogue, sports and outdoor
activities, eco-friendly tourism in Finland etc.

2. To unite and support Kenyan community in Finland

There are numerous steps the association can take to help unite
Kenyans living in Finland. Some of the processes taken will include
establishing regional chapters in cities across Finland, create
mentorship programs to help newly arrived Kenyans better integrate,
engage Kenyans in Finland through online social media platforms and
finally organise awareness campaigns about diversity and inclusion to
foster understanding between the Kenyan community and Finnish
society.

3. To promote health awareness within our Kenyan community.

The health of every member is paramount for their well-being and
productivity. With this in mind, the association shall promote health
services that address issues such as mental health, stress
management, preventive care, balanced nutrition, exercise and
physical activity and finally to raise awareness about the risks of
excessive alcohol consumption or substance use.

4. To champion social and economic integration of Kenyans in Finland.
   For the growth and prosperity of the Kenyan society, the association
   will seek to encourage and support Kenyan entrepreneurs by
   marketing their products, organising workshops that cater to: financial
   management, taxation, savings, investments and by providing tools for
   financial security which is a crucial part of economic integration.
5. To offer youth mentorship programs.

Establishing youth mentorship programs is a core part of the
association’s objective for posterity. Kenyan teenagers and young
adults in Finland will undoubtedly benefit from guidance on matters
such as educational and career goals, skill training, collaborations with
experienced professionals, competitive exposure and opportunities that
are meant to nurture and bring out the best in the youths.

6. To provide civic education among the Kenyan community in Finland.

This is meant to encourage Kenyans to get involved in local community
activities, volunteer work, and civic organisations. This will empower
the Kenyan community to become active participants in local
governance and decision-making. It also allows Kenyans living in
Finland to contribute positively to their local communities.

7. Providing emergency assistance to the members of the association.

The association shall partner with non-profit organisations and
foundations to set up a crisis mitigation fund and resources meant to
shield Kenyans living in Finland from facing adverse unforeseen events
such as job loss, medical emergencies, traumatic experiences or other
financial difficulties. The association shall conduct workshops to inform
the community about their legal rights in Finland, including labour
rights, tenant rights, and access to legal resources in case of disputes.
The association will facilitate information dissemination using
communication platforms to regularly inform the community about
available services, resources, and emergency procedures in Finland.
It’s important to ensure that everyone in the community knows how to
access help when they need it.

8. Promoting professional development by networking.

The association will foster the career development and professional
growth of its members. This will be achieved through organising career
fairs, job search workshops, and CV-writing sessions specifically
tailored to Kenyans in Finland. This will be geared towards providing
Association of Kenyans in Finland proposed bylaws draft, guidance on how to navigate the Finnish job market, including tips on
securing internships, apprenticeships, and full-time jobs.
Wherever possible, the association will work with Finnish institutions,
businesses and municipalities to promote cultural diversity,
encouraging greater representation of Kenyans and other immigrants
so as to create opportunities for collaboration, employment, and
entrepreneurship..
